prayer team

“Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. Matthew 18:19

The prayer team is a group of members of our church body who agree to dedicate time to praying specifically for the prayer requests that we gather during the Sunday morning worship service.

We believe that Jesus taught in His sermon on the mount to “Ask, seek, and knock in prayer. Prayer is asking or petitioning the Father for the things we need. He knows that we need them and provides all that we need out of His glorious riches. Prayer is seeking intimacy and oneness with the Father, getting to know His voice as sheep know the voice of their shepherd. Prayer is knocking, asking the Father to transform an individual, family, church, community, or nation. Knocking is asking Jesus to open doors in peoples lives that only He can open.

We believe in Jesus’ model of persistent prayer. The first is the parable of the persistent neighbor in Luke 11. The second is the parable of the widow and the unjust judge in Luke 18.
